French artist Louis Guillaume (1995), based in La Rochelle, works primarily with plant-based materials. His works, often in the form of ephemeral installations, explores the power and poetics of the living life.

After graduation from the École des Beaux-Arts (School of Fine Arts) in Rennes in 2019, he has completed numerous artist residencies in unique contexts, such as with the organisation Finis terrae, where he spent several weeks on the island of Ledenez-Vraz off the coast of Brittany for a residency titled #Tempête.

In 2022, through the support of L'Alliance Française and Centre Intermondes, Louis was able to spend several months in the Philippines, an experience that allowed him to expand his practice into film.

As one of the laureates of the first series of the Ministry of Culture's Mondes Nouveaux program, Louis successfully carried out his plan to harvest poplar catkins with a group of approximately ten people during an expedition aboard a boat on the Loire River, between Angers and Nantes in May 2022.

In 2024, Louis took part in a residency at the Ibere Camargo Foundation in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, in partnership with L'Alliance Française, the city of La Rochelle and Centre Intermondes. He then joined the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, where he worked on a collaborative project with Le Cyclop art center, located in the Fontainebleau Forest. During his stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts, he met Muhannad Shono and Joanna Chevalier, the curators of the 2025 Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, where he presents his new creation, When We Still Let The Wind Pass.

Louis also participated in the 68th edition of the Salon de Montrouge in February 2025.
